Or, people with ill-defined “tummy troubles” didn’t get any better when they took away gluten. It’s almost like people are gullible hypochondriacs who now believe we’ve developed a civilization-wide “intolerance” to a food we’ve been eating for thousands and thousands of years.

Pixelmator was one of the best software purchases I’ve made in the last 5 years, if for no other reason than that it has kept me from having to maintain a pirated copy of photoshop (and learn how to use it so I can put captions on cats).

I know, as an urban young professional, I should love the promise and environmental-friendly joy of electrics blah blah blah. But, no. I think electric cars are a dead-end technologically, but more importantly, they’re answering the wrong question.

I don’t think we should be asking “how can we green up our hugely expensive private vehicles to shuffle our way out to our suburban sprawl panic rooms”. Instead, we should be putting the societal energy towards better mass transit, better planned cities, and rethinking whether it’s a good idea to have people doing 2 hour commutes every single goddamn day from, like, Naperville, so they don’t have to live around brown people. Fortunately (unfortunately?), a lot of market trends will force the matter, such as the housing market becoming increasingly toxic as incomes stagnate. (Yeah, there’s signs of life right now. Won’t last, it’s just a mini-bubble built on cheap money that has nowhere else to go.)

This is spot-on. It blows my min how many people choose to make long commutes. I know not everyone has a good choice, but a large number of people put themselves in this situation that wastes resources, wastes, time, and wastefully stresses them out.
