Welp, yet another atheist struggle with the call to
armsprayers. After thinking about it for a few minutes I chose, “I’m sure she’s very grateful to have your support.” Right? That’s OK?
My very religious aunt called me at lunch today because she wanted me to drive to my home town and go to some Christian concert and for 20 minutes after the conversation was over I had to listen to every depressing thing she could think of that’s going on with anyone remotely connected to me my old church and repeatedly deflect questions about any prayer requests I might have.
Jesus I just can’t take it some times.
And I’m sorry to you very good people to whom your religion is very important, but seriously that was depressing and awkward and I am really am/am not looking forward to the day when I finally snap and tell my extended family that I haven’t believed in a god for years.
