This is what they mean by a “post-truth society.” Planned Parenthood supplies free and low-cost mammograms, and some people choose to simply not believe it.  You can’t argue about politics anymore, because one side lives in a completely alternate reality.

One time while I was in grad school I thought my breasts felt a little lumpy and I got scared, right, so I made an appointment at my local PP. They gave me a full visit and everything. The OB-GYN said that what she was feeling seemed normal but if it would ease my mind to see a specialist, she could refer me to one. I explained to her that I was an unemployed grad student and she told me to wait a moment and she left me in the office for a few minutes.
She came back with forms for me to fill out for PP so that I could get reduced/free visits. She also gave me a sheet of paper with five or six different hospitals/clinics in Chicago that could offer me an in-depth mammogram for little cost (short wait) or free (long wait).
I think I paid $10 for the visit, which included my (then) annual Pap Smear, because I hadn’t yet filled out the proper forms for a free visit.
TL;DR THIS GRAPHIC IS DUMB AND WRONG THE END.

Just gonna reblog gender issues today.
